I need to block the sending domains (gmail.com is a domain) of spammers, not the email addresses only.

Amazing that there is no topic for Spam, the most hated aspect of email. Mozilla, wake up!

Anyway, I want to be able to highlight a bunch of spam emails, then block all the domains they are being sent from, first checking to make sure nothing was sent from a legit domain like Gmail or Hotmail. Because the smart spammers acquire domains from which they can generate an untold number of email addresses from and they can just a different one every day so blocking an individual email address from someone like this is useless. They'll never use the same one twice because it's so easy to use another one. They own the domain so they control everything at that domain.

I've never heard of any email program offering this which is perplexing as this is the only logical solution to the vast majority of spam we are plagued with in 2025.

We really need an Add-On for Thunderbird as it appears Thunderbird doesn't seem to care.

I set up my own spam filter to take any address not in my personal address book or in a an address book of allowed organizations and put it in the spam folder. It stopped working a few months ago. I may have messed up my personal address book by trying to eliminate duplicates. I made a mistake and ended up with even more more duplicates. I set that project aside, but somehow the filter stopped working. Filters that don't depend on the address book continue to work. Not sure why the address book filter doesn't work. Even if there are duplicates, the algorithm needs to check every one to be be sure the From address is not there. But nothing gets moved out. It's as though everything were somehow in the address book or the address book has nothing in it. But it does have addresses--lots of them.

I currently use the Daily version of Thunderbird V141.0a1 and I am using it to connect to my Gmail account via Imap. Recently the client has started showing two Junk folders, one I am assuming is for the Thunderbird Junk mail settings, which is being shown as being on the gmail server but the folder doesn't exist when I use the web interface into gmail, the second Junk folder is actually the server's Spam folder which the Thunderbird client has recently started showing as the name Junk. If I open that folder it displays the email the server has classified as spam, and if I attempt to rename that Junk folder back to Spam it fails with a message that the Spam folder already exists. How do I rectify this situation?
